Is it too late to apply for gradute school? Graduate School starts in a month?

Your best bet is to apply as a non-degree seeking student for this year, then apply to the program of your choice when you have been admitted to the university.

I won’t be able to explain my particular situation and all the extenuating circumstances, but when I was looking to change schools to continue to a Ph.D. program upon graduating from my M.S. (opportunities to stay at the same school just weren’t forthcoming as I originally hoped), I was a late applier. I ended up applying in April that year for the upcoming fall. I figured I would probably be a late acceptance (during later round selections), but still had a slim chance because of outstanding academic performance.
By the end of that summer, I received a last minute acceptance. One thing that may have helped me out was that I contacted potential advisors in my area of interest and specialization before applying to see if they had opportunities available.
While you are really cutting it close, anything is possible. If the graduate school has spots open, you may have a chance.
Good luck!
