Is it easy to transfer from a community college to a university?

Also, keep GPA in mind. You can enter a community college right out of high school with the worst GPA and still get in. All you need is to take the placement tests and pass them or you take prequistes. However, when you transfer with an associates degree, it makes things a lot easier. (More scholarships/grants etc and no need to take the ACTS or SAT)
GPA wise, state colleges tend to set the bar higher GPA wise and want you to come with certain classes (in my experience) while private schools both the highlighted ones and normal ones have GPA requirements that can range from 2.2-3.0+ however, many of the more prestigious private colleges will require more than just GPA, community service, personality and goals are taken into account.
In my transfer experience the biggest problem that I encountered was two classes not transferring. Getting in was easy because of community service, GPA etc. Just keep close to the college(s) of your choice and you’ll be fine. Let them know early, the earlier the better.
State schools I would round the GPA to about 2.5 and Bigger Universities around 3.3 – 3.5.
