Is it better to be a General Nurse in the Air Force, or not?

You should not tell anyone that you are homosexual. As long as you don’t discuss it or practice it openly, you will not be discharged. I have served with several people that I either knew or suspected were gay and they were all excellent soldiers. My best friend in my last unit was a lesbian female officer (a nurse anesthetist) and I was proud to serve with her. She was always very professional and kept her private life private.
Added later…if you are a male nurse in the Air Force, they are going to label you as gay anyway. I would stay clear of the Armed Forces. The stress of hiding who you are is not worth whatever perks there may be. It is an outdated, testosterone-loaded, bias-ridden dinosaur of an institution based on conformity, not individuality.
