Secondly, the most important thing, is to find out where everything is AHEAD OF TIME. There’s nothing upperclassmen hate more than having freshmen running around lost. Yeah, some will help you find your way (I would), but others will lie about where something is, so it’s better to know and not have to ask.
Thirdly, high school isn’t as bad as everyone says. It goes by a lot faster than you think. I’m supposed to start my senior year August 27th and have been doing senior pictures and all that other good stuff, and it still feels like I’m back in 5th grade! I don’t know HOW the time went by so fast.
Fourthly, get involved in some activities and you’ll make a bunch of new friends.
Fifthly, work hard! Freshmen year really screws up a lot of peoples’ GPA. Most people think the time to start caring about that is junior year. Trust me! Don’t wait. Keep your grades up and take an honors class or two, and you won’t be one of the crazy kids trying to take full honors courses their junior year to get their GPA up!
High school is a bit of more work than middle school. You will need the same discipline through out your scholars years if you plan on succeeding. Get into the good habit of studying and completing your assignments now. Any person who has successfully passed high school with above average scores will tell you knowing the material taught helps.
You will meet new people but you will also probably see familiar faces. Take this opportunity to reach out to different people. Don’t be so quick to fall into your clique (group). Keep an open mind, join different clubs that spark your interest. High school will offer you many opportunities to explore your likes and dislikes.
You will learn more about yourself, you will learn more about other people: how they react, behave, and how well you interact with them. In all of this you will find yourself maturing and having growth within yourself. best of wishes to you!
