Is 8 years of med school worth it?

If you want to be a doctor, it’s worth it.

Frankly, if you’re interested, do more research into higher education to see what you’re getting in to. It doesn’t sound like you or the people you talk to have any idea of what kind of schooling is involved in being a doctor.

First of all, no med school is 8 years. It’s only 4 years. There’s undergrad before med school that might be 4 years and there’s your residency after med school which also might be 4 yrs. They all have their pros and cons.

Well, doctors do make a lot of money. I think that if a person can actually get into med school then they should go for it.

Do the people you’re asking have graduate degrees? A lot of people who don’t just can’t concieve of spending that long in school. If it’s something you really want to do, it doesn’t seem so long.

If you are willing to have no life whatsoever for that long, then make tons of money but be completely socially inept, then yeah.
