yes, 5 is a rational number because it can be expressed as a fraction, 5/1 = 5.

numbers like pi (3.14159265…) are not rational because they cannot be expressed in such a form.

a rational number is a number that can be expressd in the form of a/b n note that b cannot be equal to 0. a and b may be any integer( -6,1,4…..)

irrational numbers is any numer that cannot be expressed as a/b. and in general is ” sq. root of any numer as long as that number is not a sq no.” e.g. sq root of 3 but sq. root of 25 is a rational no. cz it is 5 which is rational n can be xpressed as 5/1.

yes because it can be put into a fraction ( 5/1). a number is only irrational if it cannot be expressed as a fraction. surds are the only irrational numbers as well a decimals.
