Get a step 1 music book. Learn it from the beginning. Reading music is not as difficult as some perceive it to be. By reading music and practicing playing by sheet music, you will be amazed at how you progress in your learning. In sum,

PRACTICE and MUSIC!

I’m self taught. Played about 20 years. I learned songs I liked from tab books (there were no internet lessons 20 years ago) and played them with friends. I would be four or five times better had I taken lessons. Seriously. Some phenoms have become truly great guitar players on their own. You are probably not some prodigy. I have a KILLER ear. Truly exceptional. I have WASTED SO MUCH TIME by not taking formal lessons. I am now, and my skill is growing by leaps and bounds every few weeks. I WISH I HAD DONE THIS 20 YEARS AGO. Sure, there are all kinds of self-learning tools out there, but you’ll save SOOO MUCH EFFORT by getting a good teacher (or three).

The only way you will get better is to find someone who can play better than you. It is suprising how quickly you will learn when you can actually see what someone else is doing.
