There are a few approaches you can take:

1) Explain how bushfires don’t kill very many animals (find statistics or whatever)

2) Bushfires are IMPORTANT. Tons of people have written on how bushfires help stabilize land and help with soil enrichment. Explain how without bushfires, way more animals would die of starvation from overworked soil/crops than the few animals that die during the bushfires.

3) As a last resort, argue that bushfires kill enough animals to stabilize the population. Without bushfires, certain species would overpopulate the earth, and exhaust food and other resources, which would have extremely detrimental effects on the entire ecosystems.

Good luck in your debate! Hope this helps!

Life Happens….
Brushfires do kill animals but only ones that are badly injured or can’t escape right away.

When yellowstone had a Wildfire scientist were amaze how bears and other wildlife prefer areas that were burned. New trees to grow and the soil is more fertile. That is why there are now prescribed fires.

Prescribed fires help the land by burning old and decompose plants and trees to make way for the new trees and plant life.

Did you try smokey the bear website there are good info there… GOOD LUCK!!!!

True, bushfires kill animals. But they also replenish the forest by burning away leaves, bramble, and bushes on the forest floor that choke roots and prevent seeds from trees falling on the ground and germinating. Without forest fires, there would be no real way that tree-choking weeds and bramble would be exterminated, and forests could die out, leaving millions of animals homeless and defenseless. True, some animals may die, but in the long run, it helps them more to have forest fires than to not have them.

ok, firstly animals dont’ get killed in bushfires, animals always have a good sence of when dangers near. So they know when a fires starts. In every Natural disaster, wild animals are always ok. Because they always sence something is big is comming. What you can say is” the only type of animals that that get killed in bush fires, are the ones that are ingered, or a baby animals that lost its mother. ” If my answer doesn’t help them i am sure you will find someone that will get a better one soon.

Well, that’s a prety tough fact to dispute. I suppose I would say, “You’re correct. Now, on to the next topic…”

And hope they bring up something truly debatable.
