Impression of Texas Tech University?
I’m going to Texas Tech in the fall and was wondering what your initial impression of the school is when you hear the words “Texas Tech”. What have you heard about it by ear?

The campus is beautiful. There are lots of good-looking people. The faculty and staff are very friendly. Good info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Tech_University
The guy that mentioned the STD rumor is completely full of bologna. That was a rumor started by a rival school and sure enough even Tech students now repeat it.
Tech is a good school. It’s not quite on the level of UT, but it’s constantly improving. I believe it will soon join UT and A&M as the third flagship university of Texas. …and its not full of knuckleheaded neocon cowboys like A&M.
In my opinion, the only drawback is the location of Lubbock. It’s just pretty far from everything.

my cousin just graduated from Tech and had nothing but complaints about the way it is run….in fact, he graduated as a doctor (pharmacy), and he plans on joining the army at the end of this month….his class still does not have their diplomas, and without it, he cannot ship off…..so, they are potentially ruining his future! there was also an incident in which his class joined a class-action lawsuit against the school. (hope you have better luck!)
