Im looking for a college that has a Theatre Arts and/or Stage Management program.?

Im not sure where to look. I live in Michigan and dont really care to stay here (ship me away!!). I have checked out the North Carolina School of Arts and Campbell University in NC.

I want to Stage Manage so i need a college with a Stage Managment program or a theatre program(where i could get a B.A. and specialize in Stage Management).

I currently attend Ithaca College in upstate New York and their theatre program is amazing. They perform musicals and plays on a monthly basis with huge opening nights that frequently sell out. It’s also right next to Cornell and IC students are allowed to take any course there they want so you would become a part of Cornell’s theatre department, as well as any local theatres. The college also establishes internships and after graduation employment for theatre students. Just something to consider.

I’m not sure about other schools but you can check this list for the best college theatre programs and look up the schools if you want

I attended NCSA for my senior year of high school and know a lot of people who went there for acting and directing. While it has its eccentricities (all theatre schools do), you would get fine training if they have a stage mgmt program.

NCSA is world class when it comes to the arts in general, especially design and tech. I don’t know why Campbell would be looked at in the same tier whatsoever. Schools of the same ilk as NCSA include Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, Juilliard of course, and SUNY Purchase (which I also attended for one year in acting before leaving to get a normal B.A. from UNC-CH).

I hope that this helps.

I know you don’t want to stay in Michigan… but out of state tuition is crazy expensive! (I’m from Michigan, I don’t blame you for wanting to leave)

I went to Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan for my Bachelor’s. They have a really good theater/stage management program. www.sienahts.edu
