If I go to college as a 21 yr old freshman, will I still fit in?

If you’re in a freshman class as a 21 yr old surrounded by 18-19 yr olds, will I still fit in, or will everyone think I’m stupid?

These things are too trivial to worry about. Keep in mind what your goal is, and then these small issues will stop bothering you. How proud you would be of yourself once you graduate, think about that day and keep yourself forward.

Don’t worry, you will fit in as there is not much of an age gap and you will do well for yourself. I have seen many people of various age-groups while I was studying. Be proud of yourself.

All the best in all your endeavors.

nope they won’t…

But the more important question is, do you think you are stupid? I ask you this because I had to ask myself the same question. It took me a really long time to get through college. When I was 25, I was in the same class as 18 and 19 year olds.

I felt awkward at first, but then I decided to just be myself. When you are who you are, then it doesn’t matter rather other people (who don’t know you or care about you) really think. Just go in do your work and go to your dorm. Believe me, you will find others in the same predicament.

Students decide to do other things after high school graduation all the time. Some work, some go to trade school, some get married, some have children, and some do nothing. What ever the reason for your delay to college, there will be others who did the same things, you will be able to hook up with them. They will be looking for friends and study partners just like any other student on campus.

Please don’t be ashamed of your delay… hold your head up and your shoulders back and look people straight in the eyes when you tell them your story. The reality is you have learned more in the last 3 years than most of the freshman students on campus, so befriend them and give them good advice.

Good Luck…

No one will think you’re stupid for going to college at 21. In fact, I think your pretty smart for going. I didn’t start college until I was 26 and had a family. I fit in just fine with the 18 year olds I went to school with. You’ll be fascinated by the new things you are learning and the people you meet. Remember this year’s oldest graduate was 95 years old, I’m sure it won’t take you that long to get your degree. Look on the bright side you just waited til you matured a little more than others did, that could be your advantage.

Really, a couple years difference isn’t going to be noticeable. From my college experience some of the 19 or 20 year olds look like they are in their 30’s. Some of the men start balding at 18 or 19 and after a few years of college they have beer bellies. I’ve noticed also that the women that were attractive in high school really start blimping up in college.

I think you would absolutely fit in – we have all had friends at some point in our lives that have been either younger or older than ourselves. Besides, what you bring to the classroom is invaluable, that being real world experience, wisdom, and a perspective that could be radically different than that of a teenager’s; all of these things only help to make not only your experience, the experience of everyone else, a much richer one. Might I add also that college isn’t the “only” place to socialize; further, you are ultimately there for the education. Best of luck.

do not hassle. you is in basic terms not the oldest man or woman on your classification. i’m tremendously particular of it. all and sundry is there for an identical reason you’re: to get an training. This previous semester I had a seventy 9-3 hundred and sixty 5 days old a pair of my instructions. as properly do you somewhat need to slot in with 18 and 19 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds?

absolutely…i am 23 years old and i am only going to be a junior most people in college end up changing their majors halfway through so there are really more people in college that will be your age than will be 18 &19…besides you are still very young so no one will be able to tell your age unless you decide to tell them, it is so smart of you to go back to school you will not regret it…i definitely do not…good luck to you!!!
