I was at a college library and saw Japanese students with little mini computers to type on. What are they?
Do they have internet access or are they just for typing? What are they for and where can I get one?!

I think what you saw may have been digital translators and dictionaries, but the e-translators and dictionaries have other features too, so they may have had internet access too.

There are a few compujter manufacturers that make ultra small full-fledged computers. One is the Toshiba Libretto which has a small screen and keyboard. This one opens up like a regular laptop and has a DVD player that the laptop docks on. The other is the Sony VAIO UX series ultra portable computer. that has a slide-out keypad and connects to periferals with a port replicator.
You can order both of these online through the manufacturer, ebay, or through distributors like CDW.
