I want to become a structural engineer. Is it necessary to get M.Eng in structural?

I am currently an undergraduate civil engineering student and I want to know if it is worth getting a Master’s in structural engineering to become a structural engineer that designs, analyzes various structures, or if work experience in that area is enough?

My dad is a Civil Engineer (Project Engineer III) but his degree (I believe) was in mechanical engineering. Where he works, work experience doesn’t get you much of anywhere. His position required the masters degree.
