I need to make a persuasive speech and I need some help on what to talk about.?
Any Ideas are good, except I cant talk about anything big and controversial, i.e. immigration, abortion, criminal punishment, etc. It is a college course, though, so don’t give me middle school speech ideas. THANK YOU BUNCHES!!

pet stores- it’s giving puppy mills reasons to stay open. Most of pet stores dogs come from the puppy mills that stack tons of dogs in the same cages, and poorly cared for. Peta.com has some good pictures for handouts.

This is not something that I can suggest, because I’m not you. The point of persuasive speeches and papers is to write about something that you feel strongly for or against. For example, I wrote an academic argument paper in a college English class that was about how womens self concept is being completely ruined by all of the photo manipulation that is done to magazine covers and ads of women. I feel strongly about this and hate the fact that because there’s a beautiful woman on a magazine cover, women feel ugly if they don’t compare to her. When in reality, she’s been edited on a computer and doesn’t even exist! They make her face symmetrical, her eyes wider, her neck longer, her hair fuller, her torso longer, her thighs thinner. They basically CREATE a new woman who is “beautiful” by society’s standards. Obviously, you might not feel that way but that was just an example of something that I felt strongly about. Figure out what really makes you mad or what you really are passionate about. Not a cop out like abortion or immigration laws because EVERYBODY “feels strongly” on those these days. But what about animal rights, censorship in the media, health care in America, using plastic shopping bags and ruining the world, etc. There are tons of things out there to have an opinion about, just find something that you truly care about. Trust me, it’ll make the paper go a whole lot better if you actually write about something that you’re interested in. Good luck!

Pulling out of Iraq might be an idea. Plenty of resources for pros and cons
