1) 80+80+105+105=370 There are your four sides.

Multiply two of them and that gives you the area.

80*105=8400

Subtract the size of the pool (20*35=700) and that leaves 7700 Square feet for the area.

2. The sum of the INTERIOR angles of a pentagon is 540 degrees.

3. An external angle of an octagon is 360 Divided by 8 or 45 degrees.

4. The answer is five and if you need to show your work go to this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagon

5. Remember that you are adding 3 inches to theh sides but that means you are adding a 3×3 right triangle to each corner. That means that each side is now six inches longer. your 11×14 picture becomes a 17×20 frame. That means the perimeter is 11+14+11+14 or 50 inches.

Remember that the angle sum of a regular shape equals (n-2)x180, where n=number of sides.

This is because if you start at the corner of a shape and make as many triangles as you can starting from that same corner, the number will always be two less than the number of sides. Try it.

Each of those triangles has an angle sum of 180 degrees. So…if a shape, say a regular pentagon, has five sides, take 5-2 which equals 3. Then take 3 times 180 degrees. A pentagon has an angle sum of 540 degrees. Works for all regular shapes (regular meaning it has equal side lengths, equal angles).

Hope it helps!
