Get a planner and organize all the work you have to do for your classes. Write down your homework or tasks you need to do before your class ends. Just keep up with your work and you’ll do fine. There will always be time for fun. The more you keep track the better off. Try to get ahead with extra credit. You’ll get used to it. Just be organized and prioritize.

Jason D is exactly right, some of the kids in honors classes are just there because the class had extra room, not everyone in there is smart, the biggest difference would be that you might have to move a little fast but really its all the same work. Now if you were taking physics in the 9th I would feel bad for you because with that in my freshmen schedule I DID have a hard time.

Believe me dude, Honors classes can be a joke, since stupid kids can sign up for them. The work is about the same as regular classes. Sometimes the course itself is easier than the regular classes. It all depends. And sometimes you’ll get a douchebag teacher and sometimes your teacher will be really cool. If you know loops, and tricks, expect under 2 hrs of homework consistently a night, so basically just do it when u get home then ur free for the rest of the day! It gets harder Junior and Senior year, so you have 2 years of livin life! Oh btw, you might have to be teacher recommended ur first year to get into honors, but the next years everybody can take them if not in ur first year. In my classes, i was marginally smart, and i looked like Sir Isaac Newton compared to the idiots in my honors classes.

how did you get placed in any honors class if you didnt do well your prior year?….usually you have to maintain a certain gpa to qualify for them…..i had honors english and biology and the workload is the same, you just move through it quicker to cover a broader spectrum of material over the year and to prepare you for the pace of college

omg! i know exactly how you feel…im going into freshman year too! and my classes are like : advance biology, advanced geometry, advance english, im even in advaced CHORUS! its sad…but yeah…i wasnt a good student in middle school either…i dont even know how i got into any of these classes (in my town, we have to be teacher recommended in order to get into advanced classes)…but anyways…my advice:

1. as soo as you get home…do ALL of your homework…dont wait til the last minute…it will just create stress…

2. as soon as you’re done…you can hang out with friends…

3. if you have a big project…dont do it all in one day…get a calendar and spread the project out (you’ll usually have between 3 days and 2 weeks…depending on how bug the project is)

4. have fun!

hope this helped!

i’m taking all honors this year too. i didn’t get my schedule yet, but we picked our classes. if you’re going to be willing to work hard, and study then you’ll be fine. i’ve heard that they’re not that different from regular classes except you move a little faster. you should be okay. =]
