I’m really freaking out about college stuff…please help.?
So I was wondering what kind of schools do you think would accept me? (examples) and could you tell me the good and bad stuff about them?
Also, have you guys heard of Case Western Univ., Knox, Macalester…. good, bad?
Thank you.

When you write your essays on your applications, you might do well to describe the transition from your first school to the magnet school. Write about what it felt like to move from being a big fish in a small pond, to becoming a small fish in a big pond. Demonstrate lessons you learned about yourself during this process. Make sure you focus on ways you overcame difficulties or obstacles.
Macalester is terrific. So is Carleton. Case Western is ok. Knox is ok. If you are looking in the Michigan/ Ohio / Wisconsin area, take a look at Kenyon, Oberlin, Kalamazoo, and Miami University.
Best wishes to you!
getting into college is about so much more than a GPA. Don’t get me wrong, if you want to go to a competitive school, you should really work on your grades in the fall, but it sounds like you just had a little trouble adjusting to a much tougher curriculum, a new school, etc.
I had one bad year in high school too, and I went on to Wesleyan University in Middletown Ct on an almost full scholarship. Wesleyan is a little like Macalester, it’s a small liberal arts college with an ivy league reputation.
Which college you want to go to depends highly on what you want to do with your life, your personality (do you like a huge competitive campus, or one that’s alittle cozier, with a smaller student body?) and your outlook — are you a radical activist type person, very conservative academic, or someone somewhere in between? What do you think your major might be? Did you want to consider a school with a good overseas exchange program?
All things to think about. The three shools you chose are all very good schools. Case Western seems a lot bigger than the other two. Any of those schools will provide a fine education, but I can’t tell you if one is a good fit without knowing who you are.
Are you the first in your family to go to college? Do you have any family and friends you can talk to about their experiences? If so, they will be a fantastic resource.
Good luck!
