Just sit back for a while and have a think, and I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.
But when summer rolled along, I got real. There’s lots of time to decide what you want to be. Panicking and rushing into things will only make things worse.
You’re 17. You have lots of time to pave your future. Take part in volunteer/extra-curricular activities to see what interests you. Talk with your parents. Take tests on the web to see what you’re most interested in. Look back and try to find out what you liked to do when you were younger.
Don’t worry, if you take your time to find your true passion and you do well in college, I’m sure you’ll be successful in whatever you do.
Remember, everything happens for a reason.
As Joshua J. Marine once said:
“Challenges are what makes life interesting; overcoming then is what makes life meaningful.”
Good Luck!
1. All that you have to do is spot your area of interest first.
2. Then try deciding on to what extent you can study ie. are you really good at studies, or average or poor.
Remember Engineering and medical are not the only options you have, there is a vast field of studies waiting for you. You a have a very large window of oppurtunities in any field you choose.
3. Once you have decided on what your interest lies in and you should obviously be knowing how well you are at studies, just try to think of some field where you think you can excel.
4. Make a list of those fields. It could even be something like becoming a pilot, or in the research area, or fashion designer, an artist, a teacher…….. so many fields.
5. then slowly try to conclude which of them will suit you the best.
Thats it. Its actually simple.
Hope this helps you out.
But also remeber not to take this issue too much to the head and spoil your studies cause this is the crucial time of your life.
ALL THE BEST
if you want to go to college, but you’re not sure what you want to do, just relax. you don’t have to pick a for sure major until about junior year, and you can change as many times as you want. my mom changed her major 10 times!
if you want to work after school, just find a job you like when the time comes.
for a lot of people, they need to take a year off to just work after high school. that’s what i did, and i’m going back this year with a clear plan in mind. it’s a great idea, and it shows you what you might like to do.
most of all, don’t listen to other people’s opinions too seriously. you have to make these decisions, not your parents or your friends or your advisors at school. this is on your shoulders, and you have the freedom to do whatever you want with your life!
you’re still young. high school will fly by, so enjoy it while you can! once you hit the real world, things get sticky… just make sure you stay on top of things like grades to give you the most freedom to either go to school or get a job when you’re done.
