Even though the extra curriculars are important, you must have the ACT requirement to get in.

make sure that the college that you apply to knows all this about you. test scores are not the only thing. You might want to look into a SAT subject test in your strongest subjects. If you are great in writing then maybe you should take the SAT II lit test. If it you are applying for fall 2008 yoiu still have time for this. You might want to look into taking the SAT reaosing test, becasue there is no science on that test ( i don’t know if you are good in science or not) but you have the time. There are SAT tests given in October, so you have soem time to prepare. results are sent out two weeks after the test, you should have enough time to submit those scores to the colleges of choice instead of/in addition with your current ACT score.

But most importatnt list all your exrta cirricular activities on the appliction. List all you awards that you won. Write a strong writing supplement.

Good luck.

Retake it. Do some practice tests. Get the Real ACT Guide Book. That should help. Was this your first time taking the test? If so, more than likely your scores will increase regardless. Once you become familiar with the test it will be easier.

There are many tutoring books and I know you don’t want to hear this but take it again! Now you know what to expect…study you should do fine and get into the school you want. Another reason to do this is a lot of scholarships are based off these scores. Good Luck

maybe you should just hammer away at that goal. maybe not. due to my childess awe of the space program when i was in jr. high i concluded that was for me. i wanted to be a fighter pilot and an engineer and i was real good at track and english and had a real talent for art (commercial graphics), so i thought if i suddenly applied myself, i could get into a good engineering school. unfortunately i succeeded in getting in. to make a long story short, i wish to god i had gone with my real talents. years of swimming upstream was my fate. follow your god given talent not some dream triggered by something that impressed you along the line. everybody is good at something. not many are good at everything. follow your dream is a sure plan for disaster. you need an older wiser head to consult with every day or you will do something young people do. screw up. sorry, but i just know i am right. good luck.

On their website it says that if you have a 17 on the act and are in the top 6% of your class than you can get in. Basically, you’ll have to take the ACT again. Sorry.

It doesn’t matter about your extra activities. If many people apply to a university and they have a admissions cap the first thing they do is cut everyone below a set ACT level and not even consider them any further.

colleges will see all your act scores, even though some will only use the higher one as the one they look at that said, never, ever retake the act or sat unless youve done something to guarantee an improvement. i personally would suggest you get some tutoring and try a third one.

Colleges don’t just look at the ACT. They understand that sometimes students bomb test. Just apply and try your best to get in! Good Luck!
