I don’t speak english. i know for speaking, we need 2000 words.(2000 words are important).please guide me.
many years ago,i read in a newspaper ,1500-2000 words are imprtant.for speaking.

if you will try it more easy you can begin with 1200 words, mostly used by kids, look at soaps and you will learn quick

yes, for day to day communication you can get by with 2000 words. For reading, you need about ten times that. To build your vocabulary, you need to speak and read! You don’t say where you are, but if you don’t have access to native speakers, watch movies in English. There are on-line corpuses (lists of the most commonly used words) that you can get on and they would probably list the most common 2000 words.
