i am working at a financial aid office in my school and i am wondering how much should i get pay?
they say its 7.50$ per hour. but it seems to be so low…

$7.50 an hour is pretty low, but if you are a student working on campus, this is not surprising. The reason is because the labor market in that microenvironment strongly favors the employer. There are lots of students for relatively few jobs. That drives wages down.
On the other hand, if you want to continue working in financial aid at a university down the road, consider this like an internship.

Each school is different in determining wages. And if you are working as a Federal College Work Study student then you need to be receiving at least the minimum wage. As you are earning $7.50/hour, that seems about right as a work study student. Remember, too, that you can only earn up to your work study award.

A lot of schools pay minimum wage for student workers. If you really don’t like the pay start looking around to see what other jobs are available that pay more. I know the Burger King in my town is paying up to $10 an hour for working early morning or late night…

Most schools pay student workers minimum wage. The federal minimum wage is $5.15 per hour, but it will change to $5.75 per hour in a few weeks. You are getting a very good wage as a student worker, but you could likely make more working off campus.
