I am about to enter 11th grade is it too late for me to pre-pare for my SAT?

If you are planning on taking your SAT, then it’s never too late – it just means that you don’t have the same jump start to preparing as some others.

Go to College Board’s website for a good head start. They have a really good planning center, with prep tips and sample questions. See where your strengths and weaknesses lie, and then use their tools and techniques to prepare as successfully as possible. The link in the sources section goes straight to their SAT prep website. Most of what’s there is free. Some items they want you to pay for.

Of course not! Most people don’t even start till mid-year. You can start now, and you don’t have to take them till probably January, February, or March, depending on whether you want to take subject tests or not, how well prepared you are, and how many times your taking the SATs. Most people don’t take it for the first time until mid-junior year.

Nope–you usually wait until Spring of the Junior year to take it. Now, you should be concerned with preparing for the PSAT, and then get ready to take the SAT later in the year.

You do have time, but in order to use it well, you must first identify your weakness so that you can focus on them in your preparation. I’ve seen web resources to do this over the years, and I suggest that you use a good search engine to find them. If you can afford them, there are also good SAT preparation classes.

It’ll be offered every month you’re in school, so take it early and take it often since you can’t really prepare at this point. It’ll be a trial by fire but you’ll do fine!

No. You have plenty of time! You have until the end of your senior year to take it. Talk to your guidance counselor when school starts back up.
