Hi!

I don’t know much about Cornell University, but I do have a friend who graduated from FIDM’s Fashion Design program and had nothing but positive things to say about the school.

One big difference between Cornell University and FIDM is location. Cornell is in New York while FIDM is in Los Angeles. Depending on what you perfer, the east coast is way different than the west coast in terms of weather, people, ect. FIDM is located in downtown Los Angeles and is down the street from the fashion district, which my friend used to her advantage many times while going to school at FIDM.

Finances also play an important role. The Fashion Design program at FIDM costs around $23,000 for one school year, while Cornell costs around $47,000 for one school year. But don’t let the cost scare you off. There is financial aid available and I know that FIDM offers scholarships. The school is really great about working with students and helping them find a way to attend FIDM if cost is an issue. I know that my friend’s advisor told her about the financial aid that is available; grants, loans and scholarships so those are a big help.

FIDM has a reputation for being on the cutting edge of the industry so students are up-to-date on the most current info upon graduation.

If you want more information about the fashion design program, I would check out the school’s web site at: www.fidm.com. The web site is great and user-friendly for students.

Hope this helps 🙂
