How/What do I need to do to get a grant?
I just graduated from High School. I do have my diploma. I don’t want to go to a school. My friend just graduated from an online collage. I asked her about the site and what they had to offer and I found what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it’s a little out of my price range. So I wanted to get money from the government so I can take online classes.

In order to get a government grant, you must first File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which requires you (if applicable) and your parents to file their taxes. Once they have their taxes filed, ask them to give you their 1040(A) irs sheet. (The sheet that has their tax information and what they filed) with That, you can go to fafsa.ed.gov 1.) Create a user account your you and your parents, 2) Request a pin number and 3) Fill out the sheet and submit it. On the last section, it should ask you what University to Send your information to. The financial aid office of the university will then gather the information that you provided in the FAFSA and determine what grant works better with your income. Universities don’t tend to give out any need-based grants to people who have not filed thier FAFSA.
(I used to work for the Financial Aid office of a university)
ALSO, you can go to FASTWEB.ORG and apply for various scholarships and grants through that website.
good luck!
