how to learn sign language?

I’m 15 y/old and interested in learning. what’s the best (FREE) book and/or website to look at to get a good grip on sign language?

By far, www.aslpro.com is the best I’ve seen. They have all kinds of resources and the site is easy to use.

Also, once you learn some basics, YouTube has tons of vlogs and signing videos. Just do a search for “sign language”. You’ll get lots of good recognition practice there, and it will help you to get accustomed to different people’s signing styles.

Also check out www.deafcoffee.com to see if there are any Deaf Chat Coffee groups in your area. There is nothing like actually signing with real people!

you can either go to a book store or a library and look at books for free….

but if u really want to learn… then there are some community collages that have that class for free… and u can start at i think 15 or 16….

my boyfriend is taking it right now there for free and he is 19….

but yea…. u can get good information for free, u just have to look around! =]
