how to learn and more understand in mechanical engineering?

It is really the same with other courses except that you can have a feel of the application when you look at automobiles, refrigerators, airconditioning, and other common machines around you to see the operation and the mechanism, unlike when you take up political science, history, economics, philosophy or accounting where the applications are not readily observed.
In your first year, you’ll deal with the general subjects like English, Humanities, History, Philosophy aside from general engineering subjects such as mathematics, physics and chemistry. Later, you’ll have to expose yourself more to machines and interview people about the operation, maintenance and trouble shooting. There are many things to relate your studies with real machines.
Just study harder.
