How often do you have to orally present in college?

I’m thinking you’re not talking about speaking up in class. I’m thinking you mean formal oral presentations before an audience of your peers and superiors.

The answer is — not nearly enough. Let me guess — maybe once per semester at most. Some majors will have more opportunities that others, and you can enhance those opportunities by taking on research projects or engaging in other types of higher-end stuff. If you like presenting, why not get involved in student government? Or try out for a slot on the student radio station? If you loathe talking before an audience, may I politely suggest you check out Toastmasters?

That depends. Some classes, never. Some classes, like history & criticism of public communications and managerial communications (and, no doubt, other communications classes), required several oral presentations. Business classes normally tend to require the oral presentation of one group project (business plan, marketing plan, financial analysis, etc) in a semester and maybe an individual oral presentation as well. History classes might or might not require you to give an oral presentation of your term paper, depending on your professor.

It really depends on the classes your taking. You’ll probably do a lot of presenting in Journalism and Communications classes because you generally have to learn how to give presentations in the business world. In other majors chances are you wont have to present as much so it all depends.

I have to present quite often. I’m working on my bachelor of science in interior design. After being there for one year, I had to present in my English class, in my basics of interior design class, history of furniture class, computer literacy class, and fundamentals of design class. And I probably forgot one. So point is, I believe it depends on your major. They work the ID students hard on this because were going to have to present to our clients and give even longer and more detailed presentations to our big clients such as hotel owners and whatnot.

My education classes only required 1-2 times. In fact, there were quite a bit that didn’t require it at all. Best thing to do would be to contact the professors of the classes you are interested in taking or talking to other students who were in those classes and asking them if possible.

I have to orally present my girlfriend almost everyday.

My students are required to actively participate every class period.
