My son’s personal trainer was a top level – can’t remember what it’s called, but there are different “degrees” of personal training. Anyway – working for a local sport/health club, he billed at $75/hour, of which he kept half. He worked, on average, seven hours a day – or about $65K a year. I venture to guess that can go even higher if you are in business for yourself.

There are alot of factors that determine what a personal trainer makes. It depends on where they are located, who they work for, what their education level is, what certificates they have, and several other things.
I graduated from college with a Bachelor of science in kinesiology and went straight into being a personal trainer.
I work for a small company that is a personal training studio, and all we do are training sessions.
I get paid $12 per 45-minute session and will be getting more as my experience level increases. I live in Mississippi, and usually every job here gets paid less than other states anyway.
