Pretty infrequently. I prefer to use a thesaurus. At my age, if I do not know what a word means or cannot figure it out through context, then I make the assumption (yeah, yeah, I know about assuming) that it is not a very familiar word and that another would be better suited.
Although I have been known to use a dictionary maybe once or twice a year. Maybe.

I use it when I encounter a difficult word to spell or run accross a term that I don’t know the meaning of. for the most part, I am a good speller (just a bad tpist) and as a rul, my vocabulary is very good. so I don’t have to use the dictionary very much at all.

Hardly ever these days. Only when the meaning of a word isn’t clear from the context, or I need to look up a derivation.

I use it quite often to hold down things that need to be weighted, or to press flowers. I have used it for to boost my daughter at the table, and I quite often use it to stand on when changing the light in the hall.
However, I haven’t used it lately to check any spellings. Spell check and Dictionary.com are king.

Every time I encounter a word I’m unfamiliar with. Wish everybody else would, too.
