There were some changes in the last decade. Now a Pharm D. requires a total of 6 years. This assumes that you have a strong high school background in math & science.

It will take 5-8 years, depending on the program you get into.

Some programs offer the ability to get in after about 2 years of prerequisite coursework…with the requirement that you earn your BS and MS degrees while you are completing the PharmD requirements.

How long it takes depends on where you are in your math and sciences. If you are placed into Elementary Algebra in college, it will take you longer to get through the calculus required for Pharm School.

The best thing to do would be to get in touch with a Pharmacy School and ask for a list of their prerequisites. With that list you can determine where you are.

bare minimum after high school is probably six years. You’d better plan on eight.
