AP Chem was probably the hardest AP test/class that I took, or at least the one that I felt like I did the most work for. The class involved labs, a lot of (not so fun) reading, and a TON of homework… constantly, the whole year. The net ionic equations kill a lot of people, and the titrations. I enjoyed Chemistry thoroughly myself, but it was one of the few classes I’ve taken where I truly had to work hard to understand everything that was thrown at me.
I never took Econ, but I’m told it’s also one of the easier tests. It was offered during my senior year as a one-semester class, if that tells you anything. I think it’d mainly be a matter of reading and learning the material, without anything too complicated about it. For a better idea of what’s on it: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/economics_micro/topic.html?micro .
Calculus is… math. If you enjoy math, it isn’t that bad. But, as with all math classes, it involves pretty much constant homework, constant learning of new material, and constant confusion of the not-quite-getting-it feeling, lol. A lot of people struggled with it. The test itself wasn’t all that hard compared to the class for me, but we did practice tests for six straight weeks in my class. If your teacher prepares you well, the test has not surprises on it. Just… math. BC Calc covers a little more than AB, but I think the difficulty of the separate classes wasn’t that different.
You can learn about the AP tests on College Board’s website, here: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/ap/subjects.html . I also suggest getting a review book of some kind early for the tests you’re taking, so you can use them as you go in the classes to cement the important concepts in your memory.
As always, AP classes are naturally challenging. They’re meant to be hard! And you may find any of them difficult or easy– that depends on your study habits and what you’re good at. It also may depend on the teachers you get whether the classes are hard or easy, and whether you find the tests hard or easy when it comes to it.
Good luck!
AP Chem sucks, still passed with a 3, had a horrible teacher who showed us physics videos instead of teaching. I didn’t learn anything but still passed with basic chem knowledge.
AP Micro econ is very difficult, but depending on your teacher and your own interest, it can be good. I haven’t taken it, but I already studied it a bit.
Calc AB or BC? It’s not bad I don’t think. But then I did really well in my previous math classes such as precalc, trig, algebra 2 and stuff, which gives you a good background to begin with. Depends on teacher too, I’ve been teaching myself so far and it doesn’t seem that bad.
For me…calculus is easy. I think about it all day, even in the train, doing calculations in my brain.
Chem, I hate it. I really hate it. thats why i didnt do so good.
Psych…idk..and im not interested i guess i’ll do bad.
Economics…not interested…i dont know how ill do.
i personally love business…so i love AP Micro Econo…so to me…its easy…
