x = (3/x) +2

Multiply each side by x:

x^2 = 3 + 2x

Subtract 3 + 2x from each side:

x^2 – 2x – 3 = 0

Factorise:

(x – 3)(x + 1) = 0

Equate each factor in turn to zero:

Either:

x – 3 = 0

Add 3 to each side:

x = 3

or

x + 1 = 0

Subtract 1 from each side:

x = -1.

i believe this is how u answer the problem.

x=(3/x)+2 ===> x-2= 3/x ===> x(x-2)=3 ===> x^2 -2x=3 ===> x^2-2x-3= 0 ===> solve for x by factoring ===> (x-3)(x+1)=0

so the answer should be 3 and -1.

because it is a quadratic equation, it has two answers. the answers check out, so i’m pretty sure they are correct.

x = (3/x) + 2

Multiply both sides by x:

x^2 = 3 + 2x

Subtract (3 + 2x) from both sides

x^2 – 2x – 3 = 0

(x – 3)(x + 1) = 0

Either:

x – 3 = 0

x = 3

or

x + 1 = 0

x = -1.
