I’m going to Grade 9 about one month from now, how am I suppose to know which classes to go to? I don’t have the schedule? What am I suppose to do on the first day? do I go to the main office and ask for assistence?

Please tell me your first day of high school and how was it? What did you do?

Thanks in advance

I graduated a few years ago.. they usually send it in the mail about a week or so before school starts, but since you are going to the 9th grade and you will be a freshman, they should have the list of where your homeroom class is going to be during open house by your name, which is usually the week before school starts. Thats a start. There you will probably have to stay in homeroom for a few days all day until you get adjusted and then they will give you your schedule.

My first day of high school, they just started the whole guys tucking in their shirts. I didnt know it was just for guys so I had my shirt tucked in the whole day and it was a sweater. lol. I was scared to disobey rules and found out near the end of the day that it was designed for the GUYS so they would stop sagging. It was scary, but it takes time to get used to.

A week before school starts you can go the your school. there should be a list with all the students names find your name you will see what homeroom you will be in. At that time you can go to the teacher for your schedule if he/she doesn’t have it then I suggest you go to the office. I live in Ga. the kids in the town where I live will have their schedule (especially highs school) on the last day of school.

Since I have been out of school for 28 years I am sure things have changed since I attended High School. I told my kids that things might be scary for the first week but in time you will get use to being in high school. I suggest is that you be yourself and everything will fall in place.

I haven’t been to school in 30+ years, but I’m quite sure it’s not changed that much. Usually you go to your home room, if you’ve been assigned one, and they give you your schedule.

Don’t worry, you’ll be told what to do when you get in the door. They take new freshmans every single year, you’re not the first one, relax.

I agree with CJ on this one. It’s been twenty years for me. We had a homeroom assigned to us that was posted on the front doors of the school a week before classes resumed.

If this is only your first year, they should offer an orientation night to help you get familiar with the school.

Good luck with a new adventure in your life.

You’ll all probably go into the main hall, (teachers will tell you where to go) then you’ll either

a) get a sheduale or

b) go to your home/form room and get given everything you need

i remember reporting to home room…at my high school home room went by your last name…like A thru D go to a certain home rm. then they passed out our schedules there. they also had people in each hall that directed people to where they needed to go.
