How do you developing a set of ethical standards?

Keep everything legal, open, honest, and treat everyone with respect.
I cheated with the last one because I put four items in one sentence.
Why these items? Because this is how I try to live my life. And how I wish the world was and how others believed and acted. I wouldn’t want to work for or with an organization that didn’t have these standards or use these standards.
More important than an organization having these standards listed as its ethical standards is the organization actually living up to the standards.
I can’t really explain the “why” part of the question. These are my core beliefs. They *are* part of me.
I have brown hair and green eyes and this is what I believe. I can’t explain it better than that.

When the world is filled with love, there will be no poverty, no sickness, no war, no fear. It would solve every problem ever created.
