One of the easiest ways to do a meaningful report on the pr industry would be to do a case study – follow a project through and find out exactly how the publicity/promotion/information affected the outcome of the project. You could do this either by contacting a pr agency and asking for their help – letting you interview them, for example, or asking them to tell you about a pet project that their firm did, or you could backtrack a contentious issue in the newspapers. Most public libraries and all university libraries have back copies of newspapers, or micro fiches of newspapers, that go back to the turn of the century, so you could follow something through and see how the pr aspects changed the way the action played out.
To say that the world “is a wild, wild, world” is a statement that none would deny. It seems to get more harsh by the day and, according to prophesy, will get more harsh before world’s end.
This fact is especially true in the field of public relations.
(Give approximately 3 bad examples of public relations you’ve experienced in person, by phone, or something that you’ve heard, via tv, that would be an example of bad public relations. Remember to give plenty of weight to your paragraphs, and tie each, like a package, at the end with a closing paragraph).
Does that help???
