I work for a paper distributor. When we cut large sheets down (25″ x 38″ or 26″ x 40″) there is typically scrap. We try to salvage the remaining scraps into usable sizes for resale or donate to the schools.

I have adapted this to my usage as well. I read a study one time that said most of the paper thrown away has only 5-10% of its surface used. There are a couple of things I do.

1. Try to use an entire sheet of paper before throwing it away.

2. If you are going to throw away a piece of paper cut off the part used and keep the other in a stack of scraps as a scratch pad.

Nice to know other people are thinking about other ways.

Good luck,

If its paper with prints on one side only (other side is blank). I turn it into envelopes having the blank side outside.

If there prints on both sides… packing paper for boxes.

They’re also great for lighting charcoal, if you don’t want to use lighter fluid.

But who mails stuff these days? (I still do)
