How can I raise my gpa?

I’m starting to get really nervous about my gpa. I’m a highschool junior and I know that this is the year that it “really counts”. any solid suggestions on how to raise my gpa to something good so I can get into a great college?

If you haven’t been doing it since 9th grade, a great college is out of the question. But for a good college you need to start GETTING BETTER GRADES….No wonder you have a low GPA!

Take a lot of AP classes, but not so much that you can’t handle it. AP classes raise your GPA becuase its on a scale of 5, not 4 like most other classes. Study hard, and if its last resort, then you will have to cheat. Just set your goal for an A+ for each class, so that if it drops, it will still be an A or A-. Also, if you have time, you should consider some community college courses. MAKE SURE U CHEAT IF UR GRADE IS DROPPING TO A B. extra note: Do all your homework in the way that it is supposed to be done. Actually read the lesson, digest it, and then do the homework rather than just trying to get it done. if you follow that, then ur grades will be fine. good luck.

If your not to nervous…

I would suggest taking AP classes.

In high school all I took where AP classes and I graduated with a 3.98 GPA, and placed 6 in my class out of like 200 and something.

At my school when you were in a Ap class…if you were to get a B in a regular class…in an AP class that counts as in A. You receive 1 credit more or halve or something like that. But that for sure wiill boast GPA. With AP classes it works on a 5.0 scale and not a 4.0. A friend of mine he didn’t do so well his 1 and 2nd year in HS and then his senior year..his GPA for his senior year was a 4.25 and that HELPED his overall GPA alot!

The thing with Ap classes for, me personally, and everyone I knew who took them…I think we all can agree that classes are NOT harder! The only thing is it is just a little bit more work, but not harder work. But that is just my opinion.

So with A classes. You receive more credit on your report card then a regular class. This is only thing that I can think of..because I know alot people are only going to tell you to study like hell…but that always isn’t enough.

First of all, get involved in some school clubs or activity groups that help around the school or community. That will show colleges that you’re more than just a bookworm. Also, study a lot for those mid-terms and final exams, and also study for any subject that gives you trouble ahead of time.

You’re just going to have to study and do all the asigned work. That’s the only way to make good grades and in turn raise your GPA. Good luck! You still have time!

Okay, all these people are right… you will need to study a lot. But also try to take one total blow off class. It will help a lot, trust me. My Spanish class was a joke and it boosted my GPA a lot junior year.

Uhhh. Studying would be a good start. Stop the underaged drinking and the weeknight parties. Read all the school textbooks like novels. It is more time consuming, but you will see a marked improvement.

1. Read widely books related to your expertise or trade.

2. Make book critics and research paper of your own will ad test your comprehensive skill.

3. Talk to your professor and ask for the manuals of your subjects that are low to your GPA.

study hard and get the good marks now because you can’t make it up in your senior year. also, learn how to take the SAT. although it doesn’t count as much in the college application, it still is important to get a good score. also, figure out what college you want to and focus on the things that that college deems important. also, stock up on the extra curricular activities such as sports and clubs…etc. do a good job on the college essay as well…(lots to do!!!!) good luck!
