How can I go to school to get a BS degree and work full time?

I’m working full time 8am-5pm, Mon-Fri. I’m also going to community college full time at night because they offer night classes. Now I want to get a BS degree at a univ but I have to quit my job because most of the classes are in the morning or afternoon. I can’t stop working because II’m the only child and I have to take care of my parents. We’ve been in USA for 3 yrs. My dad doesn’t make as much money as I do. My mom is sick, she doesn’t work at all. She doesn’t know how to speak English or drive a car. I’m the head of the household basically. I applied for financial aid but they didn’t offer me any grants, just loan but that loan is not enough. I can’t go to community college forever and I can’t stop working either. I’m stuck…Please give me some advice…

Check into reputable colleges that offer online course. U of Maryland is good and there are several others.

Where do you live that doesn’t have a University that does not offer classes in the evening. Most 4 year schools have evening classes for working adults. What about an online University like University of Phoenix? It is geared for working adults. Whatever you do, don’t give up. I just finished my MBA and I have three children. I started from the community college level and now I can say that I am done with school. It was hard taking care of my kids, but I did it. Use the internet and find resources. Talk to the counselors at the school you want to attend. They have scholarships and funds that are not awarded through the federal financial aid process.

Don’t give up!

I would check into completing your education with online classes. More accredited four-year universities are offering these classes that allow you to complete your degree.

This way you also don’t have to worry about leaving your present position, as online courses allow you the freedom to do the work on your schedule. You don’t even need to live near the university. For example, my brother lives in North Carolina, but the accredited university he just graduated from is in Nebraska.

Good Luck!

Set your priorities and focus on maintaining high grades and job performance.

I did it while raising a family and working full-time. It wasn’t easy, but I did it.

Good luck. Now put down the excuses and get moving.
