How can I get myself, in the mood to want to study?

I am bad at studying, it reallly doesn’t interest me, it bores me, i hate studying and I know that I really need to study, and i don’t put in enough time as I should, so what should I do to get myself to study more and like to study?

Is it the act of studying that you hate or that bores you or what you are actually studying?

If you don’t like what you’re studying, study something else. Easy.

But if you hate studying because you have to give up some of your free time, imagine yourself 5-10 years from now (might be hard but try to) if you continue as you are or if give up study altogether…. you need motivation, think more of what you want, and what it means to have it.

make it fun.

Have some study mates, come over and take notes and then you guys could play trivia or something… Ask each other questions and if you get it wrong, you have to do a dare or speak the truth or prank call someone on your phone list and say that you’re homosexual. OR each time you get a question wrong, you give up 50 cents or a dollar OR at the end of the trivia, tally up how many you’ve got right, whoever has the higher number wins the $50 pot or however much you want to put in (let’s say, 10 dollars per person and you’ve got 5 people you’re studying with)… It will inspire you and you won’t get bored.

This works… get a part time job you absolutely hate, Burger joint ect. Now picture yourself doing it full time for the rest of you life.

You’ll learn to love studying…

Or get a friend as a study buddy and you can make a game and evening out of it. Example. Study a while then go do what ever you like and as your doing it quiz each other randomly. That way your out having fun and still studying…

For me it is easy. I have had a lot of dead end jobs after I got out of the military and I just reflect back on that before I baulk at doing homework. All I have to do is think about working in the heat or cold or rain. All I have to do is think about doing a job that didn’t match my talents and how hard it was to struggle.

Here are some good tricks that I learned along the way.

1. Take good notes—it activates a part of your brain that helps you remember

2. Participate in class—It will activate a part of your brain that helps you associate what you know.

3. Work ahead of schedule—this one will give you the most bang for your buck. It will give you time during the crunch session and to hone your edge and get your grade over the top—(I had a 3.77 GPA in college and a 2.87 GPA in high school)

4. Read daily—I swear—it makes you smarter.

i don’t think there is any way to motivate people to stydy. i don’t like studying as well, and even when i got told i would get dropped of my course i was still lazy. the thing that motivated me to work, was the thought of having a bad/terrible job when i am older because i didn’t get good grades.

hope you find a way 🙂

this is a hard one. you only want to do things that you want to do so making yourself wants something you dont is truly hard. the way i would do it is study with someone that likes studing that particular subject and their want will pour over to you. if you dont know anyone that likes studing anything then you need smarter friends

You just have to make yourself do it. Just focus on finishing it and think how you’ll feel once it is finished. Give yourself lots of breaks, say 10 minutes every hour. Good luck.

tell yourself…if you don’t study hard, you’ll flunk in your exams..worse? you’ll be repeating over and over again the same stuff that you are studying now…
