how can i find out if a school is real and has creditations?

ACCREDITATION

Penn Foster High School is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools for our high school and vocational-technical programs.

Penn Foster High School is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools.

Penn Foster High School has met the high standards of integrity and performance set by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), Washington, D.C., and is a fully accredited member. The DETC is a voluntary association of accredited home study schools, which was founded in 1926 to promote sound educational standards and ethical business practices within the home study field.

The Independent Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the Department of Education as a “nationally recognized accrediting agency.” The Accrediting Commission is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

All Penn Foster programs are affiliated with DANTES, which qualifies U.S. military personnel for tuition reimbursement.

So, I will give you an example of how to check if the accredidation is accurate or faulty.

For instance, Penn Foster says that they are accredited by DETC. You will have to go to DETC website to make sure that Penn Foster is on their list of accredited schools. Which, they are.

Yes I have about six years ago or so. I was actually at lunch they had a m22 bullet found on the cafeteria floor and while I was at lunch a couple of cops walked in. We thought it was nothing sometimes they like checking up on our school. Then as we prepared to start our next class the Super attendant made an announcement that both the Middle and High School were placed on Lock down. We didn’t know what was going on and we were really nervous because the Virginia Tech shooting happened not too long before. We ended up leaving the school at like quarter of six while the entire schools were searched. The FBI SWAT police state police you name it they were there. To this day I am very grateful it wasn’t anything more serious and that everyone was okay.
