High School?

I wanted to get a job straight out of high school doing stuff in CAD (Computer Aided Desgin) which i might receive thanks to my friend’s mom’s boyfriend. Now my friends brother got it because he took the 4 Drafting classes in the school but they trained him because nothing he learned in the classes was what they used there. If i wanted to get the job would they look at my failed classes and turn me down. I have failed about 6 of classes i thought were stupid during 9th grade and half of 10th but in 11th i have done alot better passing all myclasses with Bs and As. But if I still graduate on time because i went to a different school where i get more credits per semester would they look at that? If not could i maybe go to a community college and take some classes in CAD to increase my chances to get the job or a similair job?

That is a great idea! I recommend community college as they will teach you the most recent technology information available and that will make you more competitive in the job market.

Be sure to meet with an academic advisor in Student Services at the college of your choice. They can help you plan your program of studies, and their services are free of charge. They are very helpful.

Do your best, keep your grades up, and good luck.

Cool it
If you go to the community college and take the CAD classes, you definately have a better chance of getting a job. Not only will it destract from your highschool record and show that you are responsible now when you weren’t then, but we live in the age of information. People with college degrees always get chosen over people without a higher education. It’ll workout in the long run too, because you can get even better jobs with a college diploma.

congrats on pulling your grades up, i know how hard it is. your old school would transfer your transcript to your new school. you probably would have to look into community colleges because you didnt make up those failed classes, which you could still make up during the summer at summer school or take community college classes over the summer. if your sure you want to do CAD then take the classes, it will increase your chances on getting the job or somthing similar, but i would also recommend getting an internship in that field. good luck!
