Carry a messenger bag. You can put your books in there and they’re more attractive than backpacks.

Gym class? Well, check the gym first. Second choice: Field Third Choice: the coach’s classroom or office.

Go to the gym then change. If most of the people there are already changed, then go change.

Yeah, the teacher will give you plenty of time to get dressed.

Tips…stay focused and balance fun and school. High school is fun but you have to make it fun. Get involved by joining a club, sport, or run for office. Be sure to make as many friends as possible!!

Im going to be a junior and when i was a freshman, we had 5 minutes. Our classes were all UPSTAIRS and our lockers were DOWNSTAIRS. So, I would take a cpl books with me at a time so I could save time. I didnt have timw to communicate to my friends.I just got my books and went to class as fast as possible. Also like if you get to class with one minute left but you have to use the bathroom. Just ask your teacher before the bell rings and usually you wont get in trouble for getting back a little after the bell.

As for gym, on the first day our coach made us sit down together on the bleachers and he just talked to us. See what everyone else in the class is doing. And when class is over, the coach will usually give you five to ten minutes to shower and change.

But don’t stress about the first day. That’s jsut the day that the teachers give you info and everything gets straightened out. You won’t have any work to do on the first cpl of days.

Don’t worry, it is hard to adjust at first but high school is a great experience. As long as you don’t get caught up in a the drama. Stay focused, make lots, of friends, and have FUN!

Good Luck

ok here’s what you do. figure out what classes of yours are close enough to your locker that you can make a stop there before that class and then carry the books around you need before you can make a stop at your locker. Also, if you don’t have any classes close to your locker, share a locker with one of your friends. And in gym, go to the gym the first day. The tchers will tell you to do. I don’t know about your school but at my school my gym teachers gave us 5-10 mintes to change b4 the bell rang. hope this helps, i was just as nervous last year about starting high school but everything turned out fine

Lockers are always a problem for me because mine never seems to be near my classes. After a day or two once you’ve walked your whole schedule and seen how much time it takes you’ll figure out a system, like bringing all your stuff for 1st and 2nd period so you don’t have to make two locker trips. You’ll fall into a rhythm. For gym class you usually meet in the gym the first day because you have to buy locks and clothes and everything, there’s no reason to be in the locker room yet. You should get like 5 mins. extra to change your clothes back after class, don’t worry about it. On the first day you’ll get tons of info.

Some high schools allow you to carry around your backpack so if your school allows you to do that it will definitely save you some time between classes. Your first day of gym you might have to sit and listen to the teacher(s) go over rules and give you a lock for your gym locker. About letting you out early, no.

aww, Don’t worry so much.

With lockers no one expects you to go to them after everrry period. It might help to organize yourself after the first day with all your supplies. Lets say you go to your locker before 1 before lunch and after the last. Get your stuff together for the classes before lunch so you can just grab them and go. Later put that stuff back and get your books for after lunch. It gets easier after the first few days.

First day go directly to gym. You most likely won’t do any real gym stuff besides getting notices and going over rules. And ofcourse the teacher givess you a couple minutes after the bell rings to get changed and before the bell to change in to your clothes.

Mmmm as for tips don’t listen to what your teacher say for school supplies. You should combine some binders for classes you have near each other. That’ll save you some time at your locker and you’ll carry a looot less.

And its only your first day their so the teachers won’t expect you to be on time so don’t worry about being late the first week.

And remember their are lots of people going through or have gone through the same thing as you so your not alone.

Pheeww good luck

Take easier stair cases. Sometimes they have stair cases near the classroom so take the staircase that you know will lead you to ur locker and back to your classroom easier. The first day of gym class u don’t change. At least that was the rule when i went to High school. After that u HAVE to change everyday. The coaches do let you out earlier so that you have time to change and go up to your classes. Don’t worry u’ll have A LOT of fun. I loved HS. I just graduated in June. SO Good Luck ok and i know u’ll have fun. Try to have fun and don’t worry about anything.

Try grouping your classes according to your schedule. Like, my high school had two classes, then homeroom, then another class, lunch, and then two more classes. I would get my materials for the first class when I got to school, and also for the second class if I wasn’t walking right by my locker. Then, at homeroom, I would switch and take out the 1st two classes, and bring only the next class. It might also be a good idea to take materials for the class right after lunch in case things run late or you want to finish a conversation instead of rushing to your locker. After lunch, I would get the last two classes of the day.

If you use binders, use one bigger instead of two or three smaller binders- it will save you space overall and you will have less chance of grabbing the wrong one. Again, group your binders according to your class schedule. The first two classes in one, the next two in another.. etc. Also, get them in different colors AND label the sides with your class names so that it only takes seconds to pick the one you need.

In gym, we could have gone right into the locker room, but we usually entered the gym first and walked past the teacher’s office to get into the locker room. Just bring sneakers and your change of clothes and check with him/her real quick, or follow what others are doing if they got there earlier.

there is really usually no need to rush in the halls with 4 mintues, even in my really crowded, big school i still find time to walk at a normal pace, and go to my locker… for the first day of gym just go to the gym not the changing room, because how would you even know if you had gym before you got your schedule and yes gym class lets out early, about 10 mintues to change

I suggest carrying your backpack or a binder with everything you need for all your classes till lunch.

As for gym, I doubt that you’ll do any activities the first day so I wouldn’t really worry about it.

The best advice I can give you is to just be easygoing about whatever might happen, things will probably be pretty chaotic the first week or so but it’ll settle.
