2.) p(0,-2) q(3,4)
3.)given p(-1,8),Q(-1,5)R(3,5) determine whether triangle PQR is scalene, isoceles,equilateral or right triangle.

x1 is the first x coord (a & p): for #1 it’s -2, for #2 it’s 0.
x2 is the second x coord (b & q): for #1 it’s 6, for #2 it’s 3.
y1 is the first y coord (a & p): for #1 it’s 3, for #2 it’s -2
y2 is the second y coord (b & q): for #1 it’s -3, for #2 it’s 4
Or vice versa (use b&q for x1, y1). You choose.
Memorizing that will surely help you on future assignments and exams, in case your teacher hasn’t told you that yet. 🙂
For #3, check the distances again for the sides of these coords. (Use distance formula). If they are all equal you know it’s equilateral. If two are equal and one is different, it’s probably isosceles. Try plotting them on graph paper to see it.
