for these problems, when they simplify by dividing, the denominator is often a factor of the numerator….

_______________

x-1 ) x^3 + 2x^2 +3x -6

dividing…..

… x^2 + 3x + 6

so, numerator is (x-1)(x^2 + 3x + 6)

divided by (x-1) .

x^2 + 3x +6

#2.

n-3 likely goes into n^3-27…

_________________

n-3 ) n^3 + 0x^2 + 0x -27

… numerator: (n-3)(n^2+3n+9)
