help about pell grant?

You indicated your school is quarter based. That means that you will get your financial aid based on 1/3 – you’ll get 1/3 fall quarter, 1/3 winter quarter, and 1/3 spring quarter.

Depending on what your Cost of Attendance (COA) is as well as your EFC (Expected Family Contribution) and any other aid you receive will determine the amount of refund you will receive.

You said you live in Georgia? Are you also receiving the HOPE scholarship? When your school gets ready to disburse your funds, it will disburse all your need based aid first (as well as the HOPE if you are receiving that) and you will receive a refund check for whatever is left.

For example, say you have an EFC of 0 so are eligible for the maximum Pell of $4310 a year (or about $1436 per quarter) and your tuition, fees, room, and board for Fall Quarter 2007 total $3000. Of that, say your tuition and fees total $2000 so your HOPE scholarship pays for that and you are left with $1000 to pay, your Pell would pay that $1000 and you would get a refund check of $436.

You should contact your school to see when they will be sending out their bill for the Fall Quarter; if you have already completed the financial aid processes, then the breakdown of what the costs is versus what your financial aid will cover will be on there. If they have not yet sent out bills, then contact your financial aid officer for more information.

No matter what, if you have excess financial aid for a quarter, you should receive that refund shortly after registration ends.

If I understand your question you will get a pell grant based on financial need. Once your amount is determined your direct cost like tution and fees are paid by your pell and other financial aid. Once tuition and fees are paid if there is a left over that is paid to you in a refund per semester.
