Have you seen an infant 3 months and up, ever been taught to do something amazing for his/her age?

And as someone said they are just amazing period
The best teaching for infants is interaction with them
There is NOTHING wrong with this as long as you don’t push them beyond their interest and development.
Parents have been doing it for years
at 3 months try
talking to your baby about your or their activities
example:
Let’s get dressed
You have a little blue shirt
Let’s pull it over your head
One hand in two hands in
and a little baby belly
(I’d tickle the kids belly but I’m a nut LOL)
Look at these little red shorts
one foot in
two feet in
pull them up on your bottom
There all done!!
Just this little dressing activity
You have taught:
The security of a routine
Dressing Skills
Language and Social skills
colors red and blue
body parts
To address Matt’s concern of course the baby isn’t going to recognize colors or body parts at 3 months or start a conversation with you yet.
You’ve simply set the stage to herlp them learn them when they are ready.
But if you are talking about a truly exceptional thing, like the commercial with the baby callling out the presidents’ names when seeing the pictures (by the way, another learned behavior, just takes time), yeah. My son at 8 months was throwing a ball straight to me and could point to the correct farm animal when I called them out (he could not say them because he could not talk yet, let’s get real – he was not developmentally ready for that). But he did learn some sign language, which was really quite amazing to me.
So I’m never impressed when someone “teaches” someone to do something beyond what they should naturally learn how to do given the right environment.
