Grammer Help?

could someone edit these sentences for me and tell me if the punctuation is right and/or any changes that need to be made:

1. I remember thinking that I couldn’t wait until I could play the keys on the piano like the man did at church, so fast and eloquently.

2. I knew it had been a while since I had left the living room and I needed to get back, so that we could begin my piano lessons for the day.
