Good scholarship opportunities for a senior?
Hopefully, I plan on taking my ACT’s in August or Sept. And my SAT’s in October.
Then, I plan to apply to colleges in December – hopefully if I don’t miss any deadlines b/c I don’t know when most college deadlines are, either Sept. or Dec.?
So, I have Straight A’s, A few B’s, and About only 2 C’s in all of High school. I’m an honor roll student, I have received the perfect attendance award more than once, and I am Corresponding Secretary of NHS.
I was hoping someone here knew any websites or scholarships that I have a good chance getting or that I can apply to that would help pay for college. I want to go to a good university and I have NO money for it. I have a single parent and she can’t afford it, obviously.
HELP!

Ask your college or high school counselor about state and university grants.
For financial aid:
Departments will have full details as to when their application deadlines are. Better to be early than wishing you wentto a different school.
For financial aid, start at
www.fafsa.ed.gov/
Don’t use any of the fafsa or “free student aid” sites with the “.com” domain suffix. Most charge to do what you can and are expected to do for free at Fasfa.ed.gov.
Look at:
www.scholarships.com
www.fastweb.com
Start reading books in the financial aid section at your local Borders or Barnes and Noble. Look at the Financial Aid pages of the web sites of the colleges you apply to.
Start appying for scholarships NOW!!! Some have fall deadlines for seniors looking to start college the following fall.
Many of the bigger scholarships require letters of reference, essays, transcripts, SAT and AP scores.
There are plenty of books on financing a college education. No need to buy them, just take good notes.
