Different schools will allow admissions for people at varying stages in their education. However, it is important to keep in mind that the bar exam, to become a lawyer, is EXTREMELY difficult! Most schools that allow students to be admitted without a bachelor’s degree are not accredited ABA schools, and have very loss bar pass rates.

My honest advice, having just graduated law school, is to keep pursuing your bachelor’s degree. Law school is very difficult and you need all the practice studying, taking notes, going to class, etc that you can get.

Hope this helped. If you have questions about law school let me know!

I think it’s great that you want to rise out of your situation and do something good with your life. Unfortunatly, you won’t be able to get into law school with only 2 years at a community college. All law schools that I looked at (I planned on going into law for a long time) require a 4-year bachelor’s degree. On the bright side, you can pretty much get a degree in anything for law school. I think most people who go on to law school get degrees in criminal justice, psychology, political science, etc but like I said, you can basically get a degree in anything. You’ll also need to take the LSAT, which is an enterance exam like the SAT for law school. You can get books at most bookstores to help you prepare for the exam. Good luck!!

Here is a complete list of law schools in California:

According to Lincoln Law school of California, it sounds like the two year degree will do it. However, most really good law firms like to see the 4 yr degree as well:

Applicants who have already completed a Bachelor’s degree or an Associate in Arts or Science degree or have completed at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units of college work may be admitted as a Regular Student.

…What kind of law do you want to go into? I’m looking at Paternal Rights!

Good Luck!

Cool. Go for it. I was the first in my family to finish college. Normally, in the US, law schools require a 4 year degree. You can check with a law school website under admission requirments. You will also have to take the LSAT which is like an ACT or SAT you’ll take for getting into college.
