Free Nursing Tuition & Books????

I got offered a full scholarship books,tuition,lab coat for a Nursing program at a Community College.

And I got accepted to a University that I want to attend however,

I have to take out Loans to pay for it..

I think taking the scholarship will allow me to earn an associates in nursing and I could use that and apply for a Degree Completion at the University???

If I take the scholarship I will nor have to worry about how I will pay for my tuition…

I have talk to a few Nurses and a Dr to get some advice and I have been told that a Full Scholarship is just about unheard of and to take it..

And I have been told to follow my heart and go to the University.

I do not want to depend on Loans to get me threw school.

I want advice from other students and Current Practitioners

TAKE IT!!! Get you Associates and then go to the U if you want afterwards..

I was fortunate to get a full scholarship to a four year college and got my B.A. in Communications. I would strongly advise you to take the scholarship!!! Because you are going into the healthcare field, there are several hospitals who would gladly pay for you to complete your four year education. There is an extreme shortage of nurses, and as a result you will not have a problem getting the remainder of you education paid for. The burden of student loans is unbearable. Take it from someone who knows people who cannot get a home b/c they are 30,000 in debt w/ student loans. Believe me, you seem like you have a pretty good head on your shoulders so: take the scholarship, save money and find a company that will pay for the remainder of your education they are out there–God Bless you ;0)

If it is really in your heart to go to a university, if it’s a dream or just an experience you want I think you should do it. Full tuition is awesome, but is it worth always feeling like you might have missed out on something you wanted to do?

Plus, a 4-year degree is much more competitive in nursing than a 2-year. you’ll get higher pay and have more room for advancement.

You have a scholarship!! A free ride for an associates degree into college! Why would you pay for something that can be offered for free? You can complete the rest of your studies at the university and be in less of debt. And for the first 2 years the university and the college that offered you a scholarship will teach the same exact things anyways.

Pass on it, let someone with more sense than you take advantage of the FREE EDUCATION.

That person will get into the work force two years earlier than you. That person will not have a pile of debt to contend with when she gets out, and that person could even- work part time and save it all to pay for two years at the university so she could get the BS too….

Definitely- pass.
